Please join the Greater Philadelphia chapter on October 19th for "Cornucopia of Retirement Plan Developments", presented by Kelly Lazzara, J.D. and Nathan Trotman, CFP®. Like with the changing of seasons, there have been many changes with respect to legislation, litigation and regulatory guidance for retirement plans – in particular with respect to defined contribution plans.  Please join us as we cover some of those timely and relevant changes that will impact your retirement plan and fiduciary responsibilities.

Speaker Bios:

​Kelly R. Lazzara, J.D.
​Kelly Lazzara is the Senior Compliance Counsel in the Financial & Retirement Services practice area within Gallagher’s Benefits and HR Consulting division. Kelly joined the Gallagher retirement plan consulting team in October 2020, with over 15 years of compliance experience that has encompassed all areas of the employee benefits industry. In her role, Kelly is responsible for helping retirement plan sponsors deploy fiduciary best practices, mitigate compliance issues, and navigate the evolving regulatory and legislative landscape.

Kelly earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Political Science from The Pennsylvania State University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Kelly assists Gallagher’s clients on all aspects of employee benefits law as it relates to defined contribution and defined benefit plans, including but not limited to plan administration questions and issues, plan document reviews and compliance, plan design, plan mergers, terminations, and general compliance issues and correction solutions. Kelly has also advised her clients on corporate transactions, including pre- and post-transaction work.
​Nathan Trotman, CFP®
​Nathan (Nate) Trotman has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, largely in the area of qualified retirement plans. At Gallagher Nate serves as the Area Executive Vice President providing management and oversight to the sales and service teams in the Atlantic and Northeast Regions. He works with employers to assist them in maximizing the performance of their 401(k), 403(b), Defined Benefit Pension, Profit Sharing, and Executive Retirement programs. Nate takes the time to understand an organization’s overall business needs, and then helps employers develop innovative strategies that utilize retirement plans in support of their business objectives and goals. His specialties include design, vendor management, investment management, full fiduciary mitigation consulting, as well as developing participant communication and education strategies. As an Investment Advisor Representative, Nate is able to serve as an ERISA §3(21) and §3(38) plan fiduciary. Nate earned his Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the Univerity of Delaware and his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification from the American College. Nate has been named to 401Wire.com’s list of Most Influential Advisors in Definted Contribution, as well as PLANADVISOR & PLANSPONSOR Magazines’ Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisors in 2021 and 2022. He has spoken at various professional conferences and employer sponsored meetings throughout the United States on a wide range of retirement plan subjects.
